Our CSR Programme

At Kubu Crafts, craftsmanship goes beyond creating beautiful hardwood furniture — it is about building people, supporting communities, and respecting the resources that sustain our work. Since our founding in 1998, we have remained committed to responsible practices that create lasting value for both society and the environment.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Skills Development & Employment

Kubu Crafts is proud to be a Zambian owned company that prioritises local employment. We actively invest in:

  • Training and mentoring local artisans and carpenters
  • Apprenticeship opportunities that pass on traditional woodworking skills
  • Fair wages and safe working conditions

By nurturing craftsmanship at grassroots level, we help preserve skills while creating sustainable livelihoods.

We recognise the importance of protecting natural resources for future generations. Our commitment includes:

  • Responsible and ethical sourcing of hardwood
  • Minimising waste through efficient production and off-cut reuse
  • Designing durable furniture that reduces the need for frequent replacement

We believe that furniture made to last is one of the most sustainable choices.

Kubu Crafts actively supports the communities in which we operate by:

  • Partnering with local suppliers and service providers
  • Contributing furniture and resources to community spaces, schools, and charitable initiatives when possible
  • Supporting local economic growth through Zambian-made production

Our CSR approach is not a single initiative, but a long-term commitment woven into how we do business. Every piece we create reflects our values — respect for people, pride in craftsmanship, and responsibility to our environment.
At Kubu Crafts, we believe that when we build responsibly, we build for generations.
